Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

22/3/21

Wow we have finished our spring term with a fabulous eventful week.

Easter egg hunt, basketball playtimes, Easter raffles, lucky class comic draw and Mr Shingler’s football tricks!

The children are getting tired, it’s been a fab three weeks getting back to our school normal and we have loved being back together.
We have enjoyed looking at maps and co ordinates and some local history. We enjoyed the story of Emmeline Pankhurst and looked at how Chester road has changed over time.
In maths we continued to add and subtract to 100 plus using the column method. I’ll add another section on here next week with links to some education city tasks and some helpful parent advice in terms of methods we use in school.

I can see an improvement in the speed of reading and many children are enjoying our quiet 10 minute reading times.

We have been practising joining our handwriting this week and this will be our target for next half term. I’ll add an icon all about handwriting but any practice things you find on the internet or in books always helps.
The children have adapted so well to being back in school and I’m so proud of them.

Look at these photographs I love the scurry to set off to find the eggs.

Our week

I just love the eagerness to find the eggs.
