Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week 6

Hello Reception 1 families.

I can't believe we have come to the end of spring 1 half term! The weeks have flown by!

This week we have been busy as always. In phonics we have been securing our knowledge of qu as in queen and ch as in chick. The children have enjoyed writing words containing those sounds.

In maths we have focussed on measure. We have compared short and tall, big and small, learnt and ordered the days of the week and how to tell the time - o'clock. The children have really enjoyed using the clocks and making their own clocks.

In topic/literacy we shared a great book called Dear Earth, which is about preserving and protecting the earth. The children have written a promise to the earth and had fab ideas how they can protect the earth. We have also found out about recycling and how lots of the things we use can be recycled and used again.

The children have enjoyed lots of outdoor play this week as well as their PE sessions.

Our medal winner this week is Unaysa!

Unaysa is always a super star in class, happy, smiling and helping others. She is a hard working little girl who is polite and always uses her manners. Well done Unaysa!

Miss Edwards and I hope you all enjoy a restful half term break and we look forward to seeing you all on Monday 20th February for another fun packed half term.

I hope you enjoy looking through the photos.

Take care

Mrs Spooner x
