Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week beginning 19th July

Friday 23rd July

Wow what a week! We have consolidated our maths learning, working out word problems using our addition, subtraction, multiplication and division skills. We have played phonics games, practised our reading comprehension, and written about our time in Year 1.

We have also discussed any worries the children have about moving to the next year - just as we were talking about new the classroom Mrs Gill happened to walk past the door and helped us to feel better. It is ok to feel a bit nervous about the new year, but you will still see us around school and Mr Cartwright, Mrs Khan, and Miss Noone will also be with you in Year 2. We think you are all very grown up and ready for the new fun and exciting challenge! heart

Tuesday was THEE BEST DAY EVER and we had fun on THREE bouncy castles! I apologise for only having a few photographs - we were too busy having fun!

Wednesday was party day and we had a ball despite the heat! Thank you for the donations - we had fun playing pass the parcel, corners, musical statues, and we enjoyed having a dance and spending time together. smiley It's official.. 1C have the BEST dance moves!!

SPOTTED!! On Thursday I popped into school and guess who I saw enjoying a story and cakes on the grass?! So this is what you get up to with Mrs Al-Noah! laugh

Well 1C that's the end of our last week. WELL DONE on a fantastic year, you are all superstars!!

Thank you also, children and families for your generous and thoughtful gifts, cards, and pictures this week. We are truly touched. Seeing the smiling faces at the gate raring to go every morning makes it the best job ever to be a 1C teacher! You have all worked so hard - enjoy the summer break and stay safe.

We will miss you very much. Lots of love, Mrs O'Connell and Mrs Al-Noah xxxx

Monday 19th July

A quick note.. I have changed the reading books today that needed changing. I will collect all the reading books in again tomorrow and keep them for reading turns in school for the rest of the week. We will then hand them up to the Year 2 teacher. Your child will come home with their workbooks at the end of this week so you can see all of their super work. laugh
