Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week beginning 10th May

14th May 2021

The rain hasn't dampened our spirits in 1C this week! We have been really excited to hear all about Ramadan and Eid, and we have all enjoyed listening to how those of us who are celebrating will be spending this special time.

We have also been busy planning and writing stories and poems about our own aliens. We have loved reading Beegu by Alexis Deacon, and thinking about how it would feel to be a stranger to Earth. 1C are trying really hard to produce their best writing, although sometimes we need 'full stop and capital letter' reminders.

We are learning about money and coins in Maths. This is helping us to practise our counting, addition and subtraction skills. Please practise counting in 2s (to 20), 5s (to 50) and 10s (to 100) if you can at home, and perhaps have a look at the coins you have in your money box at home.

If you would like more ways to help at home, have a look at our help pages below.

There is a good game on the Topmarks website that we have enjoyed using . It requires the children to select coins to make the correct amount.

You could play at home for more practice.

We have also enjoyed playing  ‘shop’ with coins in the till and priced items.

There were some great alien paintings this week!

Don't forget to keep learning your spellings!
As usual, PE is Monday and Friday next week. Have a lovely weekend.

Love Mrs O'Connell and Mrs Al Noah Xx
