Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week 2

Hello Reception 2 Families!

Where did this week go?! It's been another busy week in R2 HQ! The children created a brilliant lift the flap fact sheet and they were very proud of their work. They began creating some finger painting art which was messy but lots of fun. We have continued to consolidate learning about odds and evens and in phonics we have learnt about the phoneme 'ow' as in owl.

Please take some time to play this Odds and Evens game with your child. Just click the link below.

In circle time this week we have begun to explore transition to Year One. The children were able to talk about how far they have come this year and identified the things that they can do now that they weren't able to do when they began in Reception. In celebration assembly on Friday Isaiah was our medal winner. We are very proud indeed of Isaiah for the thoughtful and hard working little boy he has become.

Next week, we are going to delve further into our 'Our Amazing World' topic and learn about the different animal groups and animals from around the world. We'll explore exciting adjectives (describing words) for animals and write about what animal we would be, given the chance!

Next Friday, 1st July, 1.30-2.45 is R2's Family Fun Day and Miss Hodgson, the children and I cannot wait to welcome you all! heart

There  are lots of exciting things coming up at VPIS in the coming weeks. It is really important that all of our parents and carers are up to speed with the reminders and details that are shared weekly on this class page. I would be very grateful if you spread the word about this page please and encourage fellow parents and carers to check in weekly, thank you. smiley

Have a lovely weekend everyone and enjoy the piccies below!
