English

Listen to the story about Antarctica by Helen Cowcher. It is a very powerful story about how this amazing continent is under threat. What I would like you to do is write 5 reasons why we should work hard to save Antarctica. Think about the animals that live there, can you remember what they are called? Did you notice how beautiful this piece of the world is?

Your sentences may look like this...

  • We must protect Antarctica because there are many different species that live in this habitat.

  • We must protect the Emperor penguins that live there.

  • Antarctica is a magnificent continent with beautiful skies.

Here are some of the illustrations from the book to help you with your writing.
Please write your sentences in your yellow book and send me your work via e-mail.

Maths

Today's multiplication maths focuses on making equal groups and adding equal groups.

Please watch the videos and answer the questions. We have squeezed two lessons into one today, so please go at your child's pace.

Geography

We are going to be re-capping the continents of the world and begin to look at the oceans today and tomorrow.

Watch the BBC clips about the continents and the Equator, then answer the questions on the quiz.

To help with naming the oceans there is a very catchy song on Youtube- maybe watch this a couple of times so that you will be familiar with their names ready for tomorrow.
