English
Please listen to our class story of Up and Down by Oliver Jeffers.
In the story we learnt that they boy and penguin were good friends. Today I want you to think about what you and your friends like to do together. I want you to write some sentences about it and try and use 'and' or 'because' to make your sentences longer. I would love to see your writing and pictures from this activity today please. I've included your word mats to help you.
Phonics
When we do phonics in school, we normally start with a warm-up recalling our sounds and tricky words.
Today Geraldine is recognising the different ways of spelling the ‘oa’ phoneme (sound). Can you help her?

Maths
Today’s lesson builds on yesterday’s fact families lesson. Today we are going to be working on numbers up to 20. If you haven’t already please take a moment to look at the videos in the link below, for some helpful tips on how we teach maths in Year 1.
Let’s warm up first by doing some counting backwards and forwards. You choose what numbers you would like to count to and back from.
Here is a game you can practise using your addition and subtraction number facts to 20.
Music
After such a wet week I decided we would have a water inspired music session this afternoon!
Enjoy singing and learning the song. There is also a listening activity (sounds of the sea) to play at the bottom of the page.
Keeping active
Why not start the weekend with some dancing? Can you join in with the dancers?
What a fun-filled and exciting week we've had from designing futuristic aeroplanes, to making our own floating boats and even having some snow!
