Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

W/b 11th October

I would like to start by saying how fantastic and resilient your children have been this week. They have had a number of different adults helping them in class due to me being poorly. Miss Edwards and Mrs Howarth assure me that they have all been amazing.

Now to let you know what they have been busy doing in class.

They have moved on to learning two news sounds this week - Mm and Dd, recognising both the upper and lowercase letters. Thank you to those who sign and comment in the yellow reading record books. Using the sounds they have learnt, the children are becoming more confident to blend the sounds together to read words.

The children have been finding out about pattern this week. Animal print patterns and repeating patterns. They have created patterns by threading beads onto a lace, threading beads onto a pipe cleaner and even using lego bricks. Matching the animal pattern to the correct animal was good fun!

I thought you might like to see some of of the children's work that we have displayed in the classroom. The children have painted some fantastic autumn trees and have been busy with our topic 'Good To Be Me.' I hope you enjoy looking through the photographs.

We have a new medal winner this week. Jaxon is our medal winner. He is always smiley and happy in school. Jaxon is kind towards his friends and he is always happy to come and complete an activity. When he has not completed an activity, he will come and say, " I've not done that yet." Jaxon could be our medal winner every week!

Just a little reminder that next week is a four day week for the children. There is an INSET day on Friday 22nd October.

I hope you are all enjoying a great weekend. Look forward to seeing you all on Monday.

Take care

Mrs Spooner x
