Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week 5

Happy weekend reception 1 families.

Things have been busy in class this week.

Thank you for coming to parent's evening this week. It was really nice to be able to have a chat with you about your super stars.

In maths we have been busy with number bonds to 10 and writing them in a number sentence and measuring.

We have talked about the start of Ramadan for Muslims. Thank you to Unaysa and her family who sent in yummy treats for Miss  Edwards, myself and the whole class. We have listened to some lovely stories, designed a prayer mat and Unaysa has explained to class how she and her family have prepared for the start of Ramadan.

Many of our beans have shoots and the children have transferred them into pots and soil. They have been very gentle transferring the beans in to the pots and then they watered them. Reception's caterpillars have been busing eating. They are getting fatter and are starting to make their way to the top of the pot to start the cocoon process. The children are enjoying seeing these changes.

It has been a fun week of playing. We have been in and out dodging the rain! In gym we are starting to see some budding gymnasts!

The children have enjoyed the story of Bog Baby. They have drawn the Bog Baby and thought about the descriptive words used in the story. There was a lot of attention to detail. We finished the week with Cosmic Yoga which the children thoroughly enjoyed.

Lucy is our medal winner this week. She is a happy, friendly little girl who enjoys imaginative play with her friends. She tries her best with all she is asked to do. Well done!

I can't believe that next week will be the end of the spring term!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and I look forward to seeing you on Monday.

Take care
