Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Friday 26th February

Hello everyone, here are today’s tasks. Keep working hard, it’s nearly the weekend !😊
English

Today I would like to you to imagine that you are Akeyo and you are writing a card or letter to Handa . You are writing to say thank you for the lovely gift she brought for you. You could say how you like the tangerines . You could write how you are happy that Handa is your best friend. You could ask when she is coming to visit you again. You could ask Handa what her favourite fruit or animal is. You can write anything that you imagine Akeyo would want to say to her friend.

Start your letter  ‘ Dear Handa,’ and end it with  ‘ love from Akeyo ‘

You can use these animal writing templates or plain paper is fine.A drawing of Handa and Akeyo together would be lovely.

Don’t forget to show Handa your best handwriting and use full stops and capital letters.

Phonics

Do you remember our phonic wall ? We use it to help us with our spellings and it shows how the same sound can be made with different letters (digraphs)

Watch the video and then I have a little task for you.

Now see if you can think of a word for each way of making a sound. Chose two sounds. See what sounds I chose and then you could think of different words or try two different sounds ( use the phonic wall to help you.)

Aut1.10.5 - Patterns with 3-D and 2-D shapes

This is "Aut1.10.5 - Patterns with 3-D and 2-D shapes" by White Rose Maths on Vimeo, the home for high quality videos and the people who love them.

Now you can play this game to practise continuing patterns. You could even try up to level 3.
Science

Today we are going to find out about the kinds of food that different animals eat. All animals have to eat to live. If an animal eats meat it is called a carnivore. If an animal eats plants it is called a herbivore. Some animals eat meat and plants and they are called omnivores. The clip below will explain things in more detail.

Can you sort the animals into carnivore , herbivore and omnivore groups by looking at what they eat ?

Have you done the ‘ poo ‘ experiment? ( on Thursday’s page ) Can you tell what kind of animal the poo came from?

Physical activity
