Monday 11th May
Thank you, everyone, for attending Parent's Evening last week. Miss Ryde and I enjoyed seeing you, and showing you the progress that your child has made. We were also pleased to hear that so many pasta shapes are being brought out to help the children practise their Maths! ![]()
We also have a folder of Maths games, and a folder of Phonics games that can be played online which you can find here:
We talked to a lot of parents about split digraphs, as well as the Phonics Screening Check. Here is some more information.
Purple Mash also has a variety of games to play, as well as your child's weekly spellings to practise under the 'To Do' tab.
Spellings
Your child's spellings to learn for the week are sent home in reading folders on Fridays. I will test the last 3 week's spellings in class this Wednesday.
Thank you for your continued support at home.

Friday 1st May.
Following our theme of 'Space' this term, 1C threw some fabulous 'ice shapes' from the planet Mars in their Dance lesson today. We learned all about the extreme temperatures on the planet and what the surface looks like.
Thursday 30th April
Wow what an exciting day we had yesterday! We enjoyed our visit from the Wonderdome to support our topic. Matt taught us all about the solar system, the moon landing, shooting stars, and Artemis 2, and it was brilliant! Thank you for your donations towards the cost of the visit. All of the children (and adults) were fully immersed in it.
Here are some songs the children might enjoy listening to at home.
We have also introduced our new book, Beegu by Alexis Deacon. We have written sentences about how we would make her feel welcome on Earth. We decided we would definitely look after her in 1C!

We enjoyed gymnastics on Tuesday and the children are really improving their balance, jumps, and cartwheels! Here are some photographs but I think a video will capture the lesson better next time.
Please remember:
All uniform needs to be labelled with your child's name. As the weather is warmer this week we are finding lots of unnamed jumpers and cardigans.
See you after the bank holiday weekend,

Friday 24th April.
We had a space themed Dance lesson in PE today. The children were twinkling like stars, zooming like space rockets and floating like astronauts in space.
Just an extra reminder that our Library day this term is on Mondays.
Thank you!
Miss Ryde.
Friday 24th April
We have had a brilliant first week back! We have introduced our new topic of 'Space' and the children are very enthusiastic about it. We have been learning facts about the planets, and how scientists study space. Next week we will have a visit from the Wonderdome Planetarium which will be very exciting!
We are now having PE on Tuesdays (gymnastics) and Fridays (dance).
In Maths, we have started to learn about halving and quartering shapes and quantities. Homework this week will be focused on this.
I have added a quiz on Purple Mash if your child would like to have a practise on there too, as well as the spellings to learn this week. Please also feel free to explore the games and activities on Purple Mash (and let me know what you like!)
Parent's evening information will be sent out on Monday. Parent's evening will be on Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th May.
Thank you for your continued support.
