Welcome to Victoria Park Infant School

Week 1

Hello R2 Families!smiley

Welcome to our class page!

Here are a few photographs of the children in their first few settling in days. They have really embraced this huge step and myself and Mrs B are incredibly proud of them!

I'd like to introduce you to the adults in our class. Mrs B is our lovely R2 Teaching Assistant and Mrs White is our lovely Learning Support Assistant, Mrs White works closely with one of our R2 children and she will be an important person to all of the other children too. Then there is myself, Mrs Cook, the Class Teacher. laugh

Myself and Mrs B will be in the play ground at the start of each day (8.55-9.00) for a quick chat and to help with anything you may need us for.  We will also be on the playground at the end of the day to chat to too. These times are limited to short chats and if you need more time please ask and I can arrange a time to meet up.

This Class Page is a source of lovely photographs of the children during their time at school. It is also a means of finding out information about the coming week. The page is uploaded over the weekend. Please take the time to check it out each week.

Gentle Reminders!

Please put your child's name in their property, especially, coats, jumpers/cardigans, book bags and water bottles.

Please make sure that your child brings a clean bottle of fresh water to school every day. We will show them how and where to refill their bottle. We also encourage them to drink their water as much as possible. **** IN LINE WITH OUR HEALTHY SCHOOLS POLICY, PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL WITH JUICE ****

Please make sure that your child has a green book bag. A back pack isn't suitable for transporting their reading folder, which will be coming home soon. Book bags can be purchased from the school office.

Our PE days are Tuesday and Friday. Please ensure that your child is wearing their PE kit to school on these days. PE kits are worn all day. We do not change into/out of PE kit at school. PE kit consists of: Black/grey jogging bottoms, leggings or shorts, a white polo shirt or t-shirt and a school jumper or cardigan. It is important that the children wear trainers that stand up to the full day at school. Plimsolls are not water proof and aren't sturdy enough.

The weather is a bit bonkers at this time of the year! Please ensure they have waterproof coats, sun hats, are wearing sun cream, scarves and gloves - as appropriate!

I put out a request for you to send in or email me a photo of your child as a baby, toddler and now, along with a family photo. We'll be using these pics as part of our learning so i'd appreciate them asap please! (thanks for the ones i have recieved)

If your child drinks oat milk as opposed to cows milk and you'd like them to have some oat milk at snack time, then please can you hand me or Mrs B a carton of oat milk in the play ground on Monday mornings to see them through the week.

If you have any questions and need to get in contact out of school hours then I will endeavour to answer your emails within the working day. My email is adelecook@victoriaparkinf.co.uk

So, a warm welcome to our awesome school and here's to a very happy Reception year filled with wonderful experiences and memories for us all.

Enjoy the photographs!

Mrs Cook x
