Mrs S Quinton-Hulme
|Role||Vice Chair of Governors, Chair of Finance Committee; Attendance Link Governor; Development Governor|
|Appointed||14/10/2017 - 13/10/2021 [2nd Term of Office]|
I am a co-opted governor with good community links within Stretford. I have been a governor at this school since 2013. I work full time for Network Rail in Programme Controls and I specialise in governance, compliance and audit. I am a part of many community groups within Stretford including: the Chairperson for The Friends of Victoria Park, and I was instrumental in reforming, and am the current Chairperson, for Stretford Children’s Theatre. I was previously Vice Chair of Victoria Park Junior School FAF and I was a part of this school’s PFTA while my son was here. I was on the Executive Committee of 23rd Stretford St Matthews Victoria Scout Group. I have been part of community funding panels, and I played an integral part in the formation of The Friends of Stretford Public Hall. These links mean that I can integrate the school further into our community and share resources, ideas and celebrations.
I have a long family history with the school, as my grandfather, mother and myself attended this school as a child, and my son also attended. I love this school – it is a part of my life and our community and feels like family. I wanted to become a governor to help the school be the best that it can be for all the children – including my own!’
Mrs M Aslam
|Appointed||17/05/2017 - 16/05/2021|
|Introduction||I am a co-opted governor and I have 2 children who both attend Victoria Park Junior School.
I have worked in the public sector in a variety of roles throughout my career and I am currently working as a Workforce Planning and HR Performance Officer. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and socialising with friends. I have been a governor at the school since November 2013. I am the Maths and Sports link for the governors and have so far found the role to be very rewarding. I strongly believe that children will enjoy learning in a nurturing and caring environment where respect, equality and courtesy are at the core.

|Appointed||17/05/2017 - 16/05/21|
|Name||Ms S Jones|
|Appointed||24/01/2018 - 23/01/2022|
|Introduction||I am a co-opted governor (started in 2018). I have two children (my eldest son is in his last year at the Junior School and my youngest son is in Reception at the Infant School). I have lived in Stretford for 18 years and love being part of this community. I have worked for 20 years in the public and voluntary sectors - from the Welsh Assembly to the NHS and charity organisations to Local Government - in a wide range of roles. All of my jobs have a common theme of improving services for local people. I currently work for the newly formed Manchester Health and Care Commissioning organisation and I’m working on the Prevention Programme, which aims to improve health outcomes for Manchester residents. I was a founding trustee of Mummy’s Star, a National charity set up to support women and their families when a mum is diagnosed with cancer during pregnancy or within the first two years after a baby is born. I am currently an advisor to the Mummy’s Star board. I am delighted to become a governor at Victoria Park Infant School and to play a part in helping the school deliver the best start for local children.|
Mr K Kalina
|Appointment||17/05/2017 - 16/05/2021|
|Introduction||I have been a co-opted governor at the school since May 2017; I also have a son currently in reception class of the school (and a pre-schooler who cannot wait to start in a few years!) I work full time for AWH Legal ltd as a Solicitor dealing with litigation. Born by the seaside in Blackpool, I moved to Manchester 10 years ago with my wife for work as we both got jobs in Manchester city centre. When we started a family we moved to Stretford and specifically the Victoria Park area as we saw it as a brilliant location to live and bring up our family. Although I have only lived in the area for the last 2 years, I feel a great affinity for Stretford and wanted to get involved formally in the local community. I see being a Governor as a way for me to offer my skills as a Solicitor (and father) and try and ensure our local school and kids get the best start they can.|
Mr A Patel
|Appointment||20/11/2017 - 19/11/2021|
|Introduction||The school has played a very important role in my life as I’m a former pupil of Victoria Park Infant and Junior school. My daughter has recently joined reception and as it’s brought back very fond memories of the school. I believe I can call upon my experience from my professional career to identify areas of improvement and help develop the future vision for the school. I have excellent communications skills and combined with my calm and collective approach I hope to help the school maintain high standards. I believe that parent governors have a special role to play. I would always try to assess issues\decisions from the point of view of parents/carers. I would look to work with parents\teachers\governors to help drive the continued improvement needed to provide our children with the best chance of success. I have a proven track record of managing teams and driving through change in some challenging times. I’m an IT Manager by profession and with my knowledge hopefully it will be ideal for the school as we live in a world where technology is becoming a part of everyday life.|
