Welcome back for the last term of Reception everyone! We will be sure to make it the best yet!
First of all an apology. My I pad isn't uploading this week's photos, so they will be sorted on Monday I hope.
We have had a lovely week. In Summer 2 we will be going on an adventure... Under and on the Sea! This week we began with a lovely book 'Meet the Oceans!'. In Drawing Club we shared a story about a friendly Kraken (the children love Kraken's). We wrote about where we would take Klyde the Kraken on a play date!.
In maths we have been recapping number facts for 5/10, odds and evens, teen numbers and doubles. We have begun to explore early addition too.
The weather has been very wet indeed but we have dodged the heavy showers and got outside and built some fantastic dens!
Next week we will explore some early history and find out about the worlds first ever deep sea diver!
We'll begin to explore subtraction too and we will learn our last phoneme in reception, the digraph 'ur'.
All of this with loads of play and fun times with our friends too!
A few notices:
Just to clear up any PE confusion. PE is still on Tuesdays. This term, on Tuesdays, we are doing some Cosmic Kids Yoga. We will have library and football coaching on alternate Thursdays. This Thursday it is football.
Please ensure your child has a bottle of water every day
Please ensure your child has a raincoat in this incredibly unpredictable weather!
Please do your very best to keep up with regular reading practise at home to help ensure that your child meets age related expectations in their reading.
Most have booked an appointment for Parent's Evening, thank you. I look forward to meeting with you on Weds 18th or Thurs 24th.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
