Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

8/3/21

It’s fabulous to see all our children back at school this week. It really put a smile on my face!

We started our new topic this week called M32. We looked at our postcodes and talked about things we could name in the surrounding area.
This week has been about settling in the children and looking at reading ages and checking the books we were previously reading are still suitable. Well done for the hard work that you have been doing over lockdown continuing regular reading it’s really made a difference. Similarly the spellings have been regularly completed so the children are 60 words ahead. Well done!

PE sessions have been great this week including scoot fit and dance with Mrs Murphy and Fitness with Mr Shingler. There were a few glowing faces after the sessions and the children enjoyed them!

In maths we have been adding and subtracting and introducing formal methods checking with our HTU method.

In English we have retold the scoot fit session and practiced our handwriting.

We read a book “what we’ll build” by Oliver Jeffers and designed our homes. We thought about what makes a house a home.

PE days will be Monday and Thursday.
