Week beginning 28th June

Happy weekend everybody!

Reminder - the school nursing team will be in school on Monday 5th July to carry out sight tests on the reception children.

As the weeks are whizzing by, the children seem to get busier and busier. We have had such a fun week!

We continued with the Naughty Bus story and thought about how some of the characters may be feeling at different points in the story. For example, the bus went whizzing past the bus stop and did not stop for the passengers to get on. The children wrote down some super speech bubbles and had some great ideas. The children have become much more confident to share their own ideas and trying to make these ideas different from each others.

Miss Edwards and I were impressed with the children's ability to double numbers and form numbers correctly. This is tricky, but they are trying so hard. The children have produced some lovely pictures of themselves with their family ready to share with their new teacher when we find out who that will be.

Towards the end of the week, things became very exciting for Reception 1.

Mrs Walkden wrote a letter to the children asking them to build something for her. See the picture below.

The children had some fantastic ideas for building the boat and what they created together was fantastic! There was lots of turn taking, team work, sharing and helping each other. They were very proud of what they made and Mrs Walkden was super pleased.

We have also enjoyed playing snakes and ladders this week and having lots of fun in our outdoor area.

Thank you to all the grown ups with your continued support to your children by helping them learn their sounds at home and hearing them read as this is helping them greatly in class.

I hope you have managed to have a lovely weekend, even thou it has been wet!

Enjoy looking at our pictures.

Take care
