Week 2

Hello R2 families

What a lovely, busy and fun week we have had in R2!

We had a PSHE circle time with the Think Equal resources. We learnt about our

AMAZING BRAINS! We made brain head bands!

We shared a story about a star fish called Starry Eyed Stan who lives in the Coral Reef. We found out about The Great Barrier Reef and went on to enjoy sponge painting with sea sponges! We created some beautiful art work that we were very proud of!

The children were fascinated by the life and achievements of Jacques Cousteau, the pioneer of deep sea diving. We found out about what deep sea divers do and labelled a diver's equipment.

We loved sharing the story 'Hooray for Fish' in Drawing Club and designed some very unusual fish of our own!

A few reminders!

  • The weather is going to be hot and sunny this coming week. Please make sure you apply sun cream on your child before school. We aren't able to do this in school for your child.
  • Please ensure your child has a bottle of water in school every day
  • It is Reception 1 and 2's Sports Day on Wednesday 26th June, 10am-11.30am in Victoria Park on the field outside the Tea Room and parents and carers are welcome to spectate. Please see your email about this. The children will need to wear their PE kit to school on Wednesday please. They will need to come to school wearing sunscreen, wearing a sunhat and must bring a bottle of water with them.

Wishing everyone a lovely weekend!
