Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week 3

Happy Friday Reception 1 families!

What a busy week we have had. This week we have enjoyed listening to the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and completing many activities. We have talked about the characters in the story, and the children thought that Goldilocks was very cheeky for eating the porridge and naughty for going into the woods on her own.

The children have all worked really hard with their phonics, remembering digraphs and sounds, sorting words according to which sound they contain, writing tricky words and even sentence writing. They really do want to do their very best and they are so proud of the work they produce.

We have been doing quite a bit of sorting this week. The children have sorted objects and characters from the story according to their size, they matched the correct objects to go with each character and they put objects in to size order. We have also been filling bowls with porridge oats, combining our fine motor skills and capacity, seeing how many scoops of porridge a bowl can hold.

The children enjoyed using their fingers to paint blossom trees to display in our reading garden.

Our medal winner this week is Aizah, who has been very busy doing all our activities and having lots of fun playing with her friends.

Once again, Miss Edwards and I are amazed at how well the children are working! They all have fantastic ideas to share during our whole class discussions.

We hope you have a super bank holiday weekend, and enjoy plenty of family time!

See you all on Tuesday.
