Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week 4

Hello Reception 1 families.

Well Christmas has started in reception this week. We have been busy learning the songs for our Christmas show, Christmas crafts have been made and lots of fun has been had.

In maths we have focused on one more and one less and in phonics we have learnt 'f' and 'ff'. The children are making good progress with their letter formation in their names and in phonics.

Thank you for your ongoing support with helping your child to practise their sounds, helpful words and reading. This has such a positive impact on their confidence and progress

Continuing with our topic this week we have been finding out about our personal hygiene, especially hand washing and brushing our teeth. The children enjoyed listening to the story The Tale of Georgie Grub, about a little boy who did not like to have a wash!

We have had a student in class this week and the children have all enjoyed working with her and making her feel welcome.

Bawan has passed our medal on to Annabelle this week! Annabelle is a happy, kind, and sociable little girl who could be our medal winner each week. She has got the balance of work and play just right!

We did manage to dodge the rain at some points this week and get outside for some fresh air and fun. Fingers crossed for a dry week next week!

Please enjoy looking through the photos below.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and take care
