During the course of Year Two your child will undertake some formal assessments known as the SATs, which form part of the End of Year Assessments.
At Victoria Park Infant School we strive to ensure that this process is stress-free and puts no added pressure on our young children. We have been practising some past papers and the children often enjoy doing these- we often call them 'quizzes'. The tests will take place during the month of May. We will not tell you when they are happening or when they have happened, your child may not even know they have done them! This is to prevent any unnecessary worry on your child's part and on yours. They will often be done in small groups and always with the class teacher.
If you would like to support your child at home with this format of assessment we have added some past papers in the folder below. There is no pressure to complete any of these, although you may wish to look at them yourselves to get an idea of what your child will experience.
We will use the results of the KS1 tests in English reading and mathematics to support our own judgement of how a pupil has performed throughout the key stage.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to get in contact with myself or Mrs Gill.
