We would like you to write your own story this week using the Katie Morag book as your starting point. In school we have written stories before and we often start by making a story map which can be done on a piece of plain paper. This will help your child to work out the sequence of events in the story. Below is an example of what a story map might look like.
When you have done this it is then time to think of your own story ideas! We normally, in school, choose one element to change, so it could be that different people come to visit or that they do something else that is a bit cheeky! It might be that your child wants to change lots of things-please let them as this is showing their growing creativity and confidence. Once you have chatted about your ideas we use a story mountain to plan our own stories. Use the template below to help you plan.
