Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week 5

Happy Saturday Reception 2 Families!

The children have been very interested to hear about the exciting Ramadan celebrations that are taking place within our Muslim families this weeks. It is always so lovely to share our special times heart

In maths we are continuing to consolidate what we have learnt so far this half term. The children had a problem to solve... 'In pairs find out who has the longest and who has the shortest feet'. It was lovely to see how the children worked together to find out answers.

In phonics we have been looking at an alternative spelling for 'x' which is 'cks'. Our bean shoots were planted in little pots of soil this week, exciting!

The children enjoyed exploring different tools and fastenings for making their own information books about their beans. They used staplers, hole punches, cellotape, split pins and different folding techniques. It was great to see their independence and their innovative ideas put in to action.

PE sessions are always a highlight of the week in R2. Their progress in gymnastics is incredible! Our little yogies impressed me in Yoga this week too!

It really was great to meet with you all at parent's evening and to share and celebrate your child's achievements and progress. Mrs Riley and I are so very proud of each and every one of them. heart

Have a lovely weekend
