Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week 5

Friday 26th March

Well done everybody! We have made it to half term!

We have had another crazy busy week of fun, activities and we even managed to squeeze in some learning.

The week started on Monday with a day of friendship. We listened to stories and talked about what would be the ingredients to make Friendship Soup and what a good friend looks like. The children had some fantastic and thoughtful ideas. We made friendship bands for a friend, friendship cards and wrote a recipe for Friendship Soup.

Following on from that, we have discussed the life cycle of a bean plant. The children have planted a bean in school, some of which have started to shoot and grow. We have sent them home so that the children can observe the growth and changes and maybe re-plant them in the garden.

Tuesday, we celebrated World Book Day together in school. The children looked fantastic dressed as a character.

Wednesday, Mrs Walkden organised a great egg hunt in the playground and we managed to find 40 eggs!! The children were looking everywhere for them.

We made some individual Easter cards for our families, enjoyed piñata fun, which was tricky, Easter egg raffle and a movie with hot chocolate and biscuits.

This week we have welcomed Caiden in to our super Reception 1 class and he has made many new friends. Sadly today we said goodbye to Ariella. She is moving house with her family and going to a new school. Reception 1 wish you lots of luck and will miss Ariella lots.

Finally, I would like to say a huge 'Thank You' to you grown-ups for getting the children to school everyday and supporting us and the children in all the craziness. Miss Edwards and I hope you have a fantastic Easter holiday. Enjoy the sunshine, fresh air, family time and and lots of chocolate!! Please enjoy looking at the pictures below.

Take care and I look forward to seeing you all after the holidays.
