Look at this PowerPoint of the Three Little Pigs. This is from a book that maybe your grandparents read when they were little.
Today we are going to look at speech bubbles. As you know, these show us what each character says in the story. Do you remember how I sometimes use my speech bubble in class to ask you questions? Watch my video and see if you can say which character says the words on each speech bubble .
Now I would like you to write some speech bubbles for characters in the story. You can use my bubbles to help you.
Remember, if you are unable to print out the sheet you can draw the characters and your own speech bubbles. Make sure they’re big enough to write in . I would love to see photos of your work
Today I thought we would have a check to see if you know how to read and spell the words of the day we have given you so far.
Maths
Let’s count on 5s, going up in a hot air balloon today. See how you go counting down!
Today’s maths is about ordering numbers up to 50 . You are going to think about the mathematical language of greatest and smallest. Please note that question 4 refers to the mathematical symbol for ‘less than ‘. As we have not revisited this during this half term I have included a poster to remind you of the symbols. If you are still not sure, just leave this one out.Watch the video and try the worksheet.
This caterpillar game is great for practising ordering numbers.
Each of the three little pigs chose a different material to build their house with . They found out which was the strongest when the wolf came huffing and puffing. There are two science lessons to follow today . They are about testing the strength of different materials in strong winds. It would be great if you could have a go at building some walls. Then test the strength of them using a hairdryer. You could try things like Lego, paper, plasticine or sticks. Does it make a difference if you stick Lego pieces together or just place them loosely on top of each other? Find out .
Physical Activity
Try some moving and freezing to finish the day. You need to remember left and right too !
Well done for all your fantastic work this week ! Take care of yourselves and I hope you have a lovely weekend π
