Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week 1 week beginning 13th June

Hello everybody.

Can you believe that your amazing children are whizzing in to the final half term of their reception year! How time flies when they are having fun.

This week has been just as fun and busy as all the others. We have started our new topic 'Our Amazing World'. Have a look at the topic web to find out what we will be working towards this half term.

The start of the week was very exciting! Our caterpillar cocoons had changed and butterflies had emerged! The children were very excited to see them and were very keen to release them into the wild and watch them fly away in the playground.

It was lovely to hear all about the children's holiday news. They we so excited to share it with their friends. The children produced some super writing all about their half term holiday.

We continue to work through the Floppy's Phonics scheme and have been looking at the 'ur' digraph this week.

In maths we have been working on doubling numbers and comparing amounts. Next week we will be learning about odd and even numbers in maths.

The sunflower seeds that we planted last half term have really had a growth spurt. The children planted them in our outdoor area on Friday so that we can continue to watch them grow. I wonder how tall they will grow?

Percy was our medal winner this week. Percy is a good friend who always joins in with what we are doing and and has worked hard to form his letter neatly and correctly. Well done Percy!

Please can I remind you to send your child to school with a fresh bottle of water daily.

Friday 24th June is our Friday Family Fun Day, 1:30-2:45. Miss Edwards and I are looking forward to seeing you in school.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads. I hope you like the treat your child has made for you.

Have a lovely weekend,

Take care
