Here are a few Easter books and popular songs that I would recommend for Easter and Spring time:
Songs:
See the little bunnies sleeping till its nearly noon
5 little ducks went swimming one day
5 little speckled frogs
Spring is here, Spring is here
Old MacDonald had a farm
Mary Mary Quite Contrary
Books:
Little rabbit Foo Foo by Michael Rosen
We’re going on an Egg Hunt by Laura Hughes
The Golden Egg by A.J. Wood
Peppa Pig: Peppa’s Easter Egg Hunt
Fran’s Flower by Lisa Bruce
Most of the songs and books can be found on line. I recommend You Tube Kids as a safe site - it can be downloaded and set up by a parent as an app, or used as a website.
During the year we use ‘Out of the Ark’ books and CD’s during singing time – we are currently using the ‘Niki Davies book of songs for spring and summer’ with the most popular song being ‘Easter Bunny’. You can listen to the songs on the out of the ark Website and they currently have free resources you may like to explore.
To encourage drawing and mark making draw Easter pictures and make Easter cards. Encourage children to write a message inside their card and practise writing their name.
I also recommend Phonics Play for Phase One activities. They are currently offering a free subscription.
Finally, if you log on to Education City and go to 'Classwork' you can sing along to the Easter nursery rhyme ‘Humpty Dumpty’.
