This week in the area of Understanding of the World we continue our ‘movement’ topic with a focus on the story 'Tip Tip Dig Dig' by Emma Garcia
Sand play
Do you have any toy construction vehicles?
Make a construction site in your sand using your toy vehicles.
Lets think about science and how different construction vehicles operate.
As in the story, construction vehicles move and work in the following ways.
- The digger digs a hole
- The mixer mixes the concrete
- The crane lifts the wood
- The tipper truck tips the sand
- The bulldozer pushes the soil
- The road roller rolls a path
Try doing some of these things in your sand!
At the moment all our playgrounds are closed but if you go into the park have a look at the different activities that there are in the children’s playground.
Hopefully they will soon be reopening!
