Thursday 25th February

Good morning everyone. I hope your week is going well and that you are enjoying the activities so far. Here is your learning for today.

Literacy

I have found a lovely book about Kenya. It isn’t a story like Handa’s surprise. It is a non fiction book. It has information about Kenya.

When you have watched the video see if you can answer these questions.

Our word of the day is a question word-  what. Look out for it and see if you can spot other question words.

Questions

Where is Kenya?

What are the different kinds of areas in Kenya?

( beaches , desserts, grasslands , rainforests, cities and villages )

What is the biggest city called ?

Where does the zebra live ?

Where does the elephant live ?

What is the game called with rocks and a board?

What fruits grow in Kenya ? ( think of the fruits in Handa’s basket )

What other animals live in Kenya  ?

Here are pictures of some African animals. There are lots of others.

I would like you to make a fact file about an African animal.

For your fact file you can try to find the answer to some of these questions:

What does the animal look like?

Where does it live?

What does it eat?

How does it feed its babies?

You could find information on the internet or in books.  There is also some information below.

There are some templates you can use, but you can write your fact file on paper or maybe make a little folded book.

Phonics

Today we are looking at the split digraph u-e

I hope that you enjoy the song about Jude the mule !
