Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week 2

We are super impressed with how well the children have settled into school life. They have had a very busy week exploring our classroom and making new friends. The children have enjoyed their first PE session with Mr Shingler. We joined the whole school Celebration Assembly. Our class Medal Winner this week was Margot. Margot has settled into School well and has been kind and caring towards all her friends in class.

We started our class phonics with the sounds s and a. Mrs White and I have been blown away with how well the children have managed with the class routine, and we look forward to another super week next week. If you would like to access Floppy Phonics the login details are below-

Please check your child’s school bag for their phonics folder, this contains all the information along with the homework sheets .

We have discovered lots of things about one another in our topic ‘All about me, All about you! The children have begun painting their amazing self portraits, thinking carefully about colours and features needed. Next week we will learning about our families.

We will also be getting the statutory Reception Baseline Assessment underway next week and expect to be carrying this out over the next few weeks.

Please don't forget...

  • Label all uniform
  • Send your child with a fresh, labelled bottle of water every day.
  • Keep reading folders in book bags.
  • Share your child's reading book and work together on this week's 's' and 'a' Floppy's Phonics worksheets.

Have a lovely (longer) weekend with lots of fun and rest - Miss White and I cannot wait to see all of you on Tuesday morning!
