Week beginning 20th June
The week began with some exciting news. Mrs O’Connell has had her baby ! He is called Jack and we all can’t wait to meet him.
This week the children really enjoyed making fruit salad. They wrote instructions, washed, peeled and chopped various different fruits and then ,the part they enjoyed the most, eating it.
Another highlight of the week was practising drawing skills. It is great to see how the children concentrate when they follow the step by step instructions on ‘Draw with Rob’ They drew some great giraffes and were very proud of their pictures.
We are all looking forward to the zoo trip this Thursday and hoping for the perfect weather. In case of rain ,a light weight raincoat would be good. Sun cream applied before school if it looks like a hot day. Packed lunch and drinks in disposable packages is important so we don’t have things to carry after lunch . Also, please can the children wear school uniform on the day..Our football session will be on Friday instead this week. So sportswear can be worn then.
I will try to take lots of photos to put on here next week ,so you can all share the experience 😊

Week beginning 13th June
Welcome back to school.Hope everyone had an enjoyable break and is feeling refreshed. I can’t believe we have reached our last half term,The time has gone so fast ! I’m sure the very busy weeks ahead will also fly by.
We have begun our new topic on Kenya and the children are very enthusiastic about their learning. Here is the curriculum update to show you what we will be doing .
This week we have been making fact files on African animals and also learning some facts about Kenya. In maths we began learning to recognise clock times. We began with o”clock and then half past.It would be really helpful if you could practise learning these times at home . You may find this website useful.
Now that the phonic screening check has been completed we will be starting with the Floppy “s phonics homework again next week . Please continue to help your child with this work as it really does help them progress with their reading and writing.
Finally ,could I say thank you to all the parents who volunteered to help with the school trip . It would have been lovely to have you all come ,but unfortunately we only have a limited number of places. Could I just remind anyone who would like a school pack lunch provided on trip day to let me know on Monday at the very latest.
Hope you a lovely (cool) weekend,
Mrs Al-Noah
