Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week 2

Hello R2 families

The children have really settled back in after the half term break and we have had a super week of fun learning. In maths we produced art in the style of Kandinsky, which contains lots of the 2D shapes we have been learning about. We definitely have some talented abstract artists and the children have enjoyed exploring the properties of shapes.

As part of our Autumn topic 'All About Me & All About You' we have been learning about our 5 senses and enjoyed investigating different textures by using our sense of touch. The children did a great job of thinking of good vocabulary to describe what they felt. They worked collaboratively and enjoyed learning new vocabulary from each other.

The whole school observed a 1 minute silence at 11am, to commemorate Remembrance Day. We ended a lovely week by each of us creating a collaged poppy.

Thank you for attending the Parent's Evening everyone. It was lovely to meet with you and celebrate your fabulous children. heart

Next week we will be embarking upon the season of glitter and glue! Yes, Christmas is upon us! We'll begin to learn the songs for our Christmas Performance! We're continuing with our topic learning and will explore how we keep our bodies healthy. In maths we'll find out about the 4ness of 4 and the 5ness of 5.

It is anti-bullying week next week, with a focus on friendship, so, on Monday 14th November your child can come to school wearing odd socks with their PE kits to symbolise and celebrate difference and diversity. Wednesday 16th November is the rescheduled date for the children's flu vaccinations. On Friday 18th November the children can come to school dressed in yellow for Friendship Friday, please bring a donation to school on Friday to mark the day and raise funds for our amazing PFTA.

Here are some pictures of your little folk for you to enjoy looking at !

Have a lovely weekend!
