Week 2
Hello R2 Families
We have had a super week. The children have shown a huge interest in space and we have had a great time sharing what we know and learning new exciting things! we shared the book Meet the Planets by Bethan Woolvin and we went on to order the planets according to their distance from the sun.
Maths has been exciting too! We have been learning about capacity and have explored capacities using water and containers using vocab like empty, half empty, half full and full.
We also developed our knowledge around weight/mass and used multilink to balance the balance pans with different class objects. The children estimated how many multilink cubes and made super predictions!
we ended the week by making space biscuits! We used icing to make the biscuit look like planet earth. They looked brilliant and the children said they tasted delicious!
I am creating this web page upon my phone folks because a BT engineer kindly cut through our internet cable, leaving our house without Wi-Fi 😬 So it means I’m unable to upload any photos of the children as they’re stored on my laptop. Sorry about that, I will ensure that I share some on Monday at school.
