Good morning everybody! I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and are ready for Monday's home learning. Let's get started!

Topic

In our topic session today we are going to have a look at a PowerPoint about the arctic and the animals that live there.

 

Now you have found out a little more about the animals that live in the Arctic. I have uploaded a video of a really nice handprint polar bear activity. Once you have made your handprint polar bear you can create your own background to stick him on. You might choose to colour the background or use coloured paper, it is up to you.

Phonics

Please recap the digraphs covered over the last few days. Today I want to introduce 'th'.

You need to put your tongue in between your teeth to say the 'th' sound. Below is a picture of the 'th' action and the 'th' song.

I wonder how many words beginning with 'th' you can think of.

Literacy/writing

Please help your child to practise writing their name using the letter formation sheet on the home learning page. If they can write their first name using a capital letter at the start of their name and the correct letter formation, please could they begin to practise writing their surname. Encourage your child to hold the pencil with a secure pencil grip and to take their time. 

Maths

Begin the maths session with some of the counting warm up activities to get your brains warmed up. Watch the video below and then write out some number lines with missing numbers like the ones on the video or number tracks like the ones attached for your child to complete.

You can choose numbers that you know your child is able to recognise. The number lines/tracks can count on or back.

Physical

What another fantastic day of home learning! Well done to you all and well done to your grown-ups for helping you.

I have really missed reading stories to you, so today, I have recorded a video of me reading you a story. I hope you enjoy listening to it.
