Week beginning 12th July

Another brilliant and busy week in 1C. The ‘sports day’ on Friday was lots of fun. The children were in relay teams . They cheered each other on as they took part in a bean bag race, jumping with a ball and the classic egg and spoon race. As everyone participated so well and were ‘good sports’ it was medals and certificates for all. The children were so proud.

After such an energetic morning, the children did very well with their final spelling test in the afternoon. So many children got full marks or close. Well done! 👏

We have also enjoyed a picnic lunchtime with the rest of the school in the sunshine, and EVERYONE made an amazing effort to take part in the Dance-athon on Tuesday! Fantastic work well done 1C we are so proud!

We have been writing stories based on The Enormous Turnip but not before working in groups to act out the story  - can you spot the characters? The farmer, the wife, Jack, the dog, the cat, the bird, and of course the turnip growing in the ground? laugh

Can we also say thank you so much for the generous party money donations. The children will be able to have a party feast next week!

Next week reminders:

Monday, Thursday & Friday will be normal uniform as there are no sports coaches in next week.

Tuesday is Mrs Walkden's THEE Best Day Ever so please wear sporty clothes.

Wednesday is party day so please wear non uniform/ party clothes.

As we are enjoying warm weather at the moment please remember to bring water in a named bottle every day, and hats, sunglasses, and pre-applied suncream will come in handy this week!

We would also like to wish a Happy Eid to our families celebrating next week. heart

The children met their new Year 2 teacher, Mrs Gill on Monday! We also managed a sneaky peek at the new classroom!!

We are looking forward to another eventful week ahead, but also starting to feel sad that it is almost time to say goodbye to our wonderful class. 😔

Mrs Al-Noah and Mrs O’Connell xx
