Hello to everyone in Reception 1,
Apologies for the delay in this week’s class update, we are really sorry. It is a joint effort this week, lead by Miss Edwards and Mrs Howarth in the classroom then shared with me to put on, on here.
Let’s start with a great big shout out to Lola, who was the medal winner in R1 this week. Lola is an absolute delight to have in the class, with her lovely manners and new found confidence. She is putting her hand up to answer questions in the classroom and her confidence is growing day by day. Well done Lola, we are all really pleased that you have got the medal this week.
Your children have been superb this week. They brightened up my mornings, practising their Christmas singing ready for the class sing-a-long – we hope many of you are able to join the children on Monday afternoon. Please cross your fingers for the weather to stay dry; we don’t expect sunshine but it would be great if the rain could hold off.
The children have enjoyed a busy week with the Christmas fairy fluttering around the classroom and hiding in some quite unusual places. They are enjoying lots of fun activities, especially using the glitter and glue doing Christmas crafts. I am not sure that the cleaners are equally pleased as the glitter gets everywhere!!
In phonics, the children have been learning ‘l’ and ‘ll’ and in Maths, the focus has been on prepositional language and consolidating the properties and differences between a square and a rectangle.
This last week is set to be the very best with singing, parties and pantos. We wish you all a happy and healthy last week in school in 2021 (unbelievable – last week in 2021 already!!). If you have any concerns or questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch and I will get back to you as soon as I can. lwalkden@victoriaparkinf.co.uk Alternatively, Miss Edwards and Mrs Howarth are doing a tremendous job and will be available at the gates before or after school. Enjoy the last week everybody
Very best wishes from
Mrs Walkden
Here are a few pictures of the children enjoying just some of the activities in school. The problem is, as you know, when you start having fun with children, you get swept up in the moment and forget to get the camera out but here are a few moments that we capture…..
