Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week 6

Hello Reception 2 Families!

On Monday the children went to meet Miss Ryde, one of their new teachers. She commented on what lovely little people they are and I felt very proud of them. They are getting their heads around the changes that lie ahead and we have chatted a lot about it in class.

On Tuesday we were off down the M60 to Blackpool to visit the zoo! It was barmy hot but we were very well prepared to meet the children's needs. We sought as much shade as we could, drank a lot of icy cold water (thank you Mr Cartwright for pulling the wagon of supplies!) and the air conditioned coach was delightful, along with our friendly coach driver Mark! We visited a lot of different animals, enjoyed lunch indoors and were rewarded with ice lollies in the shade to finish. A huge thank you to the children for their awesome behaviour, it was a joy to see them so excited and enthusiastic. A huge thank you also to our adult helpers for keeping the children happy and safe and to you parents for making sure they were sun safe. heart

Next week is another busy one. Here are some reminders. Please share them in parent WhatsApp groups to help to keep everyone in the loop:

All library books, and school reading books need to be returned Monday 25th July please.

A special end of year treat has been organised for the children on Tuesday 26th July and the children need to come to school dressed in comfortable clothing.

On Wednesday 27th July the children can bring in a toy from home to play with in school with their friends. Please don't let them bring anything that is sentimental, too big, electrical, has lots of small parts (that could get lost) and that they are happy to share with their friends. Please ensure they bring their toy in a bag with their name on.

During the summer holidays Trafford Libraries welcome the children to participate in a Summer Reading Challenge. Please keep encouraging their love of reading by taking part. Here are the details:

Enjoy looking through our zoo trip photos, I couldn't resist taking some of the children crashed out on the coach on our journey home!

Have a lovely weekend everyone. Miss Hodgson and I are looking forward to our last few days with this wonderful group of children. crying
