W/b 13th September

Hello Reception 1 families!

We have had another fantastic week in school. The children continue to impress us with how well they have settled in to our daily routine, taking part in the activities on offer and making friends. Miss Edwards and I are very proud of how the children are coming into school daily with big happy smiles, ready to see their friends.

We will be continue to get to know your children and discover what their learning style looks like. This week the children have had their first PE sessions, and they were amazing. The coaches commented on how well behaved the children were and how well they listened and followed their instructions. Reception 1 are all super stars!!

Next week, our school day will begin to be a little more structured. We will begin Floppy's Phonics, early maths and start to investigate our topic 'It Is Good To Be Me'. Alongside that we will still be doing lots of learning through through play.

The children have had such a great week that the have got 10 marbles in our class jar. This is a class reward and when we get 10 marbles in the jar we have a class treat. Let's hope they can get 10 again next week.

On Monday your child will bring home a phonics folder. In this folder will be a reading record book, a copy of the sound your child has been learning in class. The contents need to stay in this folder and the folder must be kept in your child's green book bag. The book bags need to be in school daily. If you have not already purchased a green book bag, please could you do so by contacting the school office to purchase one. Each day, your child will bring home a new sound sheet. The sheets are to be completed at home with you. We would like you to date and write a comment in your child's reading record book to let us know how they are getting on.
