This week year 2 have had a visit from the fire service and reception had a sneaky peek at the fire engine in the playground. The children were very excited!
The children have been finding different ways to make 4 and 5 and in phonics we have learnt 'f' as in fish and 'ff' as in cuff. In continuous provision this week the children have been finding the letters to make cvc words to match the pictures, writing our letter sounds correctly and having fun being creative with the construction and playdough. We have discussed the changes between night and day and what different things happen during these times.
On Friday we received a letter from Santa to say he has sent his special fairy Evangeline to Reception 1 to make sure they are being good, kind and helpful.
Some of the children made Christingles to mark the start of Advent. The rest of the children will make theirs on Monday and they will all bring them home.
The children have enjoyed investigating the ice outside and have been making the classroom look a little festive.
Please remember we will be doing our Santa Dash on Monday so your child can come to school wearing Christmas hats and headbands.
Can I also ask that outfits for the Christmas play are sent in to school in a named bag as soon as possible.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and enjoy looking at some of our photos,
Take care
