Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week 5

Hello R2 Families

I hope everyone has been keeping wrapped up and warm this week!

We've had fun in maths this week using practical apparatus to explore number facts of 2, 3, 4 and 5.

The icy weather brought lots of excitement! The children were ice detectives, hunting for ice in all the nooks and crannies and the sand was frozen solid! The children were determined to build sandcastles nevertheless!

Mrs Riley and I were so impressed with some of the independent writing taking place in continuous provision using the story dice!

We learnt about Christmas Advent on Friday 1st December, made Advent wreaths and opened the first pocket on our class advent calendar. There is a yummy treat in store for everyone over the course of December!

The children love to pursue their individual interests, grow friendships and develop new skills in their child initiated play in continuous provision.

Next week we will be continuing to practise our Christmas production and will carry on with some lovely Christmas crafts. It is the Santa Dash on the playground on Monday afternoon, to raise funds for playground equipment and it is Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday 7th December and your child can wear a Christmas jumper and own clothes.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and we look forward to seeing you for another chilly, fun week at school!
