Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week beginning 14th June

Hello 1C children and grown ups!
We have had a VERY busy week at school this week. We’d like to say thank you for your kind messages of support and to the children for being their fantastic superstar selves - they did us proud! laugh

We read Jack and the Beanstalk this week and a story told from the giant’s point of view. 1C used adjectives such as furious, frustrated, confused, and enraged to describe the giant in the book. We also wrote letters from the giant to Jack – which produced some very interesting writing! (Photos to follow next week).

In Maths this week we have begun to work out the answers to multiplication sums practically and using arrays. We have used our skills of counting, and made groups of 2s, 5s and 10s.

Multiplication is all about how many ‘groups of’ a number there are.

I’ve included some information below that might help explain this better and extra work if the children want to practise at home.

On Friday afternoon we had a visit from one of England’s top handball coaches. The class had lots of fun practising their ball skills .

Have a great weekend!

Love Mrs O'Connell and Mrs Al-Noah Xx
