Hello R2 Families
So what have we been getting up to this week?!
We have been comparing the size of objects and ordering them from the smallest to the biggest. We have also compared mass/weight. We were human weighing scales and decided which object was heavier and which was lighter...
As part of our topic, we have been talking about homes. We have chatted about our house numbers and the colours of our front doors. We have explored different kinds of houses, rooms in houses and the kinds of objects you find there...
We are really enjoying Drawing Club so far. The children have amazing imaginations and are trying hard to describe their ideas and to get them down on paper. We had fun with the Traditional Tale 'The Enormous Turnip' this week and it was hilarious when they came up up with alternatives to the turnip!
Next week, we will continue to find out about ourselves, our similarities and differences and will talk about our brilliant bodies! We'll name our body parts and talk about what different body parts do. It's animation week in Drawing Club and we'll enjoy an animated version of 'Funnybones'. We are progressing well through our phonics scheme and next week we'll learn the phonemes m and d. In maths we'll compare capacities and explore simple patterns.
I hope everyone has a really lovely weekend. Myself, Miss Lockett and Miss Myles can't wait to see you all on Monday morning (it'll be week 6, yikes!)!
