Before we start our learning today, I want to say 'well done' to the children who have been reading books from the Epic website. Have a look, there are lots of books to choose from and audio books to listen to.
Good morning, and happy Tuesday!
I hope you are all well and that you are all smiling.
First of all, here is Tuesday’s mindfulness activity.
Topic/PSHE
Watch the video again. Talk about how the boy might be feeling when the penguin first arrives at his door. Why do you think the penguin follows the boy? What does he want.
The boy made a mistake leaving the penguin at the South Pole. Talk about a mistake you or your child might have made in the past. How did you resolve them?
The penguin was lonely... talk about what is means to be lonely and how we can help others when they are feeling lonely. What can we do when we feel lonely ourselves?
Literacy/writing
I would like you to draw a picture of the boy and the penguin. Draw a thought bubble next to each one, like the one below.
Write in the thought bubble what you think the boy and the penguin are thinking.
Phonics
Today we are going to look at the ie digraph (2 letters that make 1 sound)
Jolly phonics song and actionPlay the game Flies in the Pies on Education City
Maths
In maths today we are going to look at positional language. Describe the position of an object/person/toy.
Look together with your child at the pictures of the penguin. Discuss where the penguin is using the vocabulary on the sheet.
Look at the Lost and Found poster. Look at the instruction poster attached and ask your child to answer the questions.
Physical
Join in with YoYo for a super fun dance workout
