Week 6
Hello Reception 2 Families
Where is this year going?! They do say that time flies when you're having fun! We've had a great week. We've been authors, mathematicians, crafters, dancers and engineers! We have retold the story of Rapunzel and I'm so proud of the children's ability to recall the story and get there ideas down on paper using their amazing developing phonics skills. The children worked together to see who could build the tallest tower for Rapunzel, using only paper and masking tape. The children's language, problem solving skills, team skills and determination was incredible!
Mr Shingler is mega proud of the hard work that the children have put into their Pinnochio dance. Please see the video below, displaying their efforts. RADA here we come!
Thank you to Mehrmah for bringing in sweet treats to mark the beginning of Ramadan 2022! Thanks to Mehrmah and Muhammed for coming up to the front of the class to explain to everyone why Ramadan is such a special time of the year for Muslims.
A big Well Done to this week's medal winner Ella, awarded for her enthusiasm, confidence, hard work and brilliant personality!
Next week we are stepping away from our Once Upon a Time... topic and having a week dedicated to learning about Easter/Spring-Time. We'll not only be going crafty crazy but we'll also be going on a park trip to Victoria Park in a dedicated Science Week that is taking place across the school. A letter was sent home on Friday and the reply slip needs to be returned to school ASAP please. Our park trip is to Victoria Park and it will take place on Thursday.
Thanks everyone for your dedication to reading and phonics homework. Almost 100% of R2 do their homework each week, you're all great!
