English and Topic
Do you remember that some people are celebrating Chinese New Year today?
This year is the year of the ‘Ox’. Hmmm… I wonder what that means? Why don’t you listen to the story of The Great Race and find out!
So according to the story everyone has an animal for the year they were born in. I was born in the year of the rat. I wonder which animal year you were born in? Why don’t you ask your adult and find out what that means you are supposed to be like. The two links below can help.
Maths
Today’s maths is all about time and sequencing and ordering events. Can you look back over the story of the Great Race and put the animals in order of who won the race? Who was 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th?
There are also 12 months in a year and 7 days in a week and they follow a certain order. Do you know the order? Maybe these songs can help you remember?
Word of the day
For the last few weeks, we have been practising reading and spelling a word of the day. Today I thought we could check and see how many words you can read and write from memory.
Keeping active
To finish our day we have got a dance to learn. Have fun!
I just wanted to say WELL DONE to all the children and grown-ups who have worked incredibly hard this half term. You all deserve a pat on the back and a well deserved rest. I hope you all enjoy the week's holiday.
Love
