Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week 3

Hello R2 Families

We have received some wriggly friends in the post!

We are looking forward to watching them grow and we have been learning about the life-cycle of butterflies through the Eric Carle story 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar', time lapse videos and non-fiction fact books.

The children created some fantastic collages using recycled pasta to illustrate the life-cycle of a butterfly...

In maths we have learnt about the vocab used to move in and follow directions. We used this knowledge to help us to programme the Beebots (floor robots) and the children were proud to have become real-life programmers!

The weather this week has been crazy! We have wrapped up warm and enjoyed the crisp early spring sunshine!

Reminders for next week:

  • Please make sure that your child has a named bottle of fresh water every day. No juice or flavoured water please.
  • PE is on Tuesdays and Fridays
  • We've had lots of unnamed jumpers, cardigans, hats, scarves and gloves-please name everything because reuniting unnamed items takes a long time and isn't always successful.
  • Thanks for getting your parents evening slips in so swiftly. Your confirmed time slot will come home early in the week.

Have a lovely weekend

Mrs Cook smiley
