Week 5
On Monday MissTovey kindly demonstrated some new signs for us to learn.
Week 4
The children have been busy painting leaves in our outdoor environment, this then evolved to painting sticks - which leads us beautifully on to our new text Stick Man.
The Christmas Play is progressing beautifully and the children are enjoying singing the songs.
In circle time the children have been sharing their special boxes. Thank you to everyone who has sent one in.
On Friday the afternoon children got to enjoy a session with Mr Shingler, where they practised team games.
Week 3
The frost and ice brought lots of fun to Nursery this week. We loved exploring the frozen tuff spots, crispy leaves and frosty mud kitchen!
In Nursery we do lots of activities to strengthen the little muscles in our hands, alongside lots of things to build the larger muscles in our body. Our small tuffspot had an activity where we had to use pincers to grab the cheerios and pop them into a pot. Any job like this helps the children on their journey to becoming mark makers!
Our text for the week was Mouse Paint, where some cheeky mice get caught in paint which then gets all mixed together. We explored colour mixing on the creative table, which the children really enjoyed.
In maths we are looking at routines and we have been sorting pictures of what we do during the day and the night.
The children contributed well to our 'Friendship Tree', offering ideas on the theme of kindness.
We marked Remembrance Day by creating poppies on the art table and painting them in the outdoor area.
We have made pizzas and enjoyed eating them at snack time.
On Tuesday we celebrated Odd Sock Day and we were invited to join an assembly led by Miss Green, where she shared the story of The Ugly Duckling. She spoke to the children about the importance of accepting each other for who we are.
Week 2
Friday saw us start our gymnastic circuits. The children worked hard balancing, travelling and jumping from the equipment. This session also meant we took our shoes and socks off for the first time in school. I was very impressed with how independent the children were and the perseverance of others who are nearly there!
Week 1
This week we have been busy with creating our own firework inspired artwork. The children showed great independence when using the outdoor enhancement.
Percy the Park Keeper also appeared in our reading corner. We enjoyed sharing stories about the park keeper who gets into all sorts of scrapes!
