Week beginning 22nd March
This week we have been finishing our work linked to the book "What We'll Build". We discussed what we hoped for the future, talking about our dreams and things that we would like to see happen. We have worked very hard on our times table and practising division, which we will continue after the holidays.
We have looked at the artist L.S Lowry and used his work to inspire our bookmarks which we made on World Book Day. It was great to see all the children dressed up and so enthusiastic. We had a mystery reader come to our classroom door to share a story. It was...Mrs Cook, who read the Cat in the Hat.
We had fun smashing our piñata! The photo below shows the scramble for the goodies! I didn't even get a look in!
Have a lovely Easter break!

Week beginning 15th March
This week we have been busy with science day. The children enjoyed experimenting with slime, watching chemical reactions and exploring how to make strong structures. The children enjoyed 'circuit training' in P.E. In English we are continuing with our story 'What We'll Build', discussing what makes us special and how we can 'build' our futures with the help of others. In maths we have been working so hard on subtraction and doing this in column form. In SPAG we have learnt all about homophones and worked in teams to play a matching game.
We had our picnic treat in the playground, which was lots of fun, and of course we had a bit of a dance too!
I am so proud of the children this week, they have worked so hard and shown such amazing enthusiasm for learning- well done 2D!
A little note...
Please remind your child if they need to change their book to place it in the basket( we will continue to do this in school).
Library is every Thursday.
We will be celebrating World Book Day on Tuesday.
It is our turn for sandwiches next week- I will be ready with my utensils to dish out the lovely treats Mrs Butterworth always prepares!
Have a lovely weekend x
Week beginning 8th March
Wow, what a first week back. The children have settled back in beautifully and really impressed me with their work this week. We have started our new topic "I love M32", which started with the amazing book "What We'll Build" by Oliver Jeffers. We have been re-capping addition in maths and enjoyed our P.E sessions.
We also thought about what makes a house a home in our P.S.H.C.E lesson and enjoyed listening to this song- I thought you might too!
Library sessions will resume on Thursdays- please make sure your child has their book to change.
A message about P.E
Our P.E days are going to be Monday and Thursday. Please wear suitable footwear for these sessions.
