Welcome back to Victoria Park Infant School

Week 5

BUSY BUSY BUSY!!!

What a super week! We've been talking about our homes and different kinds of houses. We've been finding out what rooms are in our homes and the kinds of things you'd find there. The children have been drawing their homes, talking about the colour of our front door, some of us know our house number and it has been lovely to hear what the favourite places are in our homes and why heart

In maths we shared the story The Owl Babies. It generated a discussion about the sizes of the owl babies and using mathematical language like small, big, little, large and we size ordered pictures of the baby owls. We loved talking about owls so much that we went on to do some lovely owl collages in continuous provision.

We have been listening for, recalling and writing initial sounds in words as well as moving along with our Level 1+ phonemes in Floppy's Phonics, we are experts at the phonemes 'i' and 'n' now!

We had a super treat on Friday when Alice from Stretford Children's Theatre came to visit and she carried out a super fun, imaginative drama session in the hall with R2!

As Autumn draws in, please ensure that the children are weatherproof for school. The weather is really un predictable and many of them love to be outside to play and learn.

Have a lovely weekend everyone. Here is a photo slideshow to give you a glimpse of what a lovely week we have had.

Take care

Mrs Cook xx
