Hello there Reception 1 families!
Wow! What a fun and festive week we have had in school. It has been a busy, amazing week watching the children have so much fun! We started the week with our Carols in the Cold. Thank you to those grown ups who were able to come along and watch. The children were really pleased to see you there as they sang and danced away. The children have made their own repeating pattern wrapping paper. They then used the wrapping to wrap up their special gift for you.
On Tuesday we watched the CBeebies panto and enjoyed hot chocolate and popcorn. Thank you to the PFTA for donating these.
On Wednesday we joined the rest of the school in Mrs Walkden's Zoom Christmas quiz. The children were fantastic at answering the questions and working as a team. Scarlett was chosen to take up the challenge for our class. She had to put on a hat and gloves and use a knife and fork to cut up as many pieces of chocolate in 1 minute. Well done Scarlett - you were fantastic!
Finally, on Thursday, we all came together in the playground to have a socially distance sing along to some of our favourite Christmas songs. As we were singing Jingle Bells, Father Christmas and his elf came cycling into the playground! The children were thoroughly excited, and their little faces were a picture! The afternoon was party time. The children sang, danced, played some party games, enjoyed some party treats followed by ice cream. Violet and Joshua were our pass the parcel winners. The children told Miss Edwards and I that it was the best party ever. That made our Christmas! We are so very lucky to have 30 amazing children in our class who have just blossomed throughout this term.
We hope you enjoy looking at the compilation of pictures in the slideshow.
Thank you very much for the party donations. Miss Edwards and I would like to say a HUGE 'Thank you' to you all for your very generous gifts and cards containing some lovely messages. We don't ever expect gifts from you, but it is heart warming to hear that you appreciate all we are doing for the children.
Che and Scarlett have their birthdays during this holiday. Miss Edwards and I would like to wish you both a very happy birthday and we hope you all have very special days.
We hope you have a magical Christmas break, take care and stay safe and we look forward to seeing you all in the new term on Monday 4th January 2021.
