Week 4

Hello R2 Families

What a happy, sunny week we've had! We have been busy as always too. We have continued to learn about plants. It was time to put what we have been learning into action and we planted our own broad beans. We have placed them in the sunny sun and we will take good care of them and watch them grow!

Here are our little green fingered gardeners in action...

As part of Science week, we had a 'Camouflaged Caterpillars' activity outside in the sunshine. We received a visit from Ivy's mum, who is a real life vet and the children pretended to be vets too! We we also got a visit from Kelly, from Unicorn Cooperative Groceries in Chorlton, she told us about her role as a grower and a grocer and the 'Journey of a Bean' from a little seed, to a can of baked beans! The children have loved every minute!

We finished the week with a healthy treat. First we had a quiz and sorted the fruits and vegetables and the children did a great job. We then made fruit kebabs. We chose 2 fruits and made repeated patterns with them! We enjoyed them together on the carpet with a well earned Friday afternoon cartoon treat!

Next week is Parent's Evening, I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday or Wednesday or Thursday of the following week. As part of our topic 'What a Wonderful World', we will be finding about the Spring!

Have a lovely weekend everyone
